Associate, Programs at END Fund

Published

on

The END Fund is a premier collaborative charitable investment initiative focused on managing and eradicating neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). NTDs are infectious diseases caused by parasites and bacteria – such as intestinal worms, river blindness, trachoma, schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis, and visceral leishmaniasis – impacting more than 1.65 billion individuals worldwide. The END Fund envisions a future where individuals can lead healthy, thriving lives without the threat of NTDs and aims to achieve this by:

– Allocating and utilizing resources for optimal effectiveness,

– Promoting creative, cohesive, and economical NTD initiatives; and

– Promoting involvement from philanthropic organizations and the private sector to eradicate these diseases.

Through the involvement of a community of activist-philanthropists and employing a systems approach, the END Fund collaborates with governments, local and international NGOs, pharmaceutical firms, and academic allies on the worldwide effort to manage and eradicate NTDs by 2030.

Since our establishment in 2012, the END Fund, together with partners, has delivered more than 1.8 billion treatments across 37 countries, conducted over 143,000 transformative surgeries, and educated 6.4 million health workers to prevent and manage NTDs. The END Fund operates worldwide in more than 25 nations, focusing mainly on Africa.

The END Fund is looking for a cooperative team member to participate in the operational program management of its latest investment portfolio named the ARISE (Accelerate Resilient, Innovative, and Sustainable Elimination of NTDs) Fund. The ARISE Fund represents the second stage of a direct reaction to the 2021 funding reductions by the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). The initial phase allocated resources for the essential NTD program initiatives in 16 countries, while striving to sustain momentum towards the 2030 NTD elimination objectives. The second phase (2022 – 2025) delves further into five nations, emphasizing essential principles like national leadership, aiding local partners, technological advancements, sustainability, and hastening efforts to eradicate the five most common NTDs. The Program Associate will exhibit dedication and enthusiasm for these fundamental principles of the ARISE Fund.
