Open Supply Hub, a nonprofit organization based in the US, is looking for a full-time Data Associate to gather data and enhance the overall quality of the database concerning worldwide supply chain facilities. The Data Associate will concentrate on examining, sanitizing, and structuring crowd-sourced facility information, guaranteeing precision, uniformity, and thoroughness throughout the platform. Job Description

Reporting to the Data Team Manager, this position emphasizes maintaining the precision, structure, and quality of data in the OS Hub platform. The Data Associate will oversee the examination, sanitization, and arrangement of global supply chain facility data, encompassing facility names and address details. This position requires the comparison and deduplication of crowd-sourced datasets to ensure consistency and precision throughout the platform.

The Data Associate will oversee facility information, including merging, dividing, processing facility claims, closures, and proposed modifications, to ensure a current and precise depiction of supply chain facilities. Furthermore, the position will involve tagging data for machine learning training and working alongside the Data and Engineering teams to assist in enhancing platform features. An ideal applicant will manage to enhance the quality of our existing data set while also fostering the development of new data on the platform.

Job Description

Data Management & Quality Assurance 60%

  • Review, clean, and organize data related to facilities in the global supply chain, including name and address data
  • Compare and deduplicate crowd-sourced datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency across the platform
  • Manage facility data (e.g., merging, splitting, claims, closures, moves) to maintain a representative and accurate global supply chain database
  • Monitor data quality, identify trends, and recommend process improvements such as implementing data quality checks and governance policies

Geospatial Analysis & Data Integration 20%

  • Assign unique OS IDs to each production location while retaining original identification data
  • Utilize OS Hub’s geocoder to verify and update geospatial coordinates (latitude and longitude) for production locations

Feedback Implementation & Collaboration 20%

  • Review feedback from OS Hub partners and consult with members to address data discrepancies
  • Perform necessary updates to the dataset based on partner feedback
  • Support OS Hub teams in creating visualizations to showcase insights from data analysis
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders on projects to clean and prepare their datasets for integration into OS Hub
  • Serve as a key point of contact for public-facing data, addressing stakeholder needs with a focus on accuracy, responsiveness, and maintaining positive partner relationship

The Ideal Candidate

• Possesses a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.

• Possess 1-2 years of applicable work experience and have prior experience working remotely.

• Familiarity with data analysis software such as Excel, Google Sheets, Python, R, or SQL

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on detail.

• Skillful in data manipulation and analysis, with familiarity in data visualization tools considered an advantage.

• Capability to efficiently manage time and function autonomously as well as collaboratively within a dynamic, remote setting.

This full-time position offers a base salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 annually, commensurate on experience and location.

Location

Although this role is remote, because of the team’s location and the duties involved, we request that the employee live in and be authorized to work in the United States. The worker should be capable of frequently engaging with team members and clients in Europe and worldwide.

The role is remote, yet we request that the employee be accessible consistently from 14:00 to 18:00 UTC. Stand-ups and other practices like demos commence at 16:00 UTC from Monday to Thursday. To have a “regular” 9-5 workday, a candidate must be located in the Eastern regions of the Americas, though there is some leeway for different work hours.

Education:

Well-developed interpersonal skills in communication and relationship building. Good people management skills and excellent verbal communication skills
Ethics of telephone communication. Ability to listen, adapt, persuade to respond. Language Requirements:

Generate and analyze inventory audit reports, highlighting deviations, trends, and potential issues/risks. Provide detailed and timely daily/weekly/monthly reports to management, suggesting corrective actions as needed. Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations regarding inventory management. Assist in implementing best practices to improve inventory control processes. Collaboration:

Required Qualifications and Experience

Ability to effectively manage competing project deadlines in a high-pressure work environment with varying degrees of supervision.
