2025 FAO INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Internship Program is an opportunity for learning that seeks to draw in talented young individuals, both women and men, who are eager to contribute their fresh insights, creative ideas, and recent research experience in areas relevant to FAO.

FAO Interns will be provided with a stipend in local currency, which will not surpass US$ 700 each month. The program additionally offers chosen students, whether in an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degree program, as well as recent graduates, the chance to enhance their academic understanding through practical work experiences in a field associated with FAO’s operations.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a UN specialized agency that spearheads global initiatives to combat hunger.

Their aim is to attain food security for everyone and ensure that individuals have consistent access to sufficient high-quality food to maintain active, healthy lifestyles. FAO operates in more than 130 countries globally, with more than 194 member nations. They hold the view that each individual can contribute to eliminating hunger.

Benefits

• FAO provides a monthly allowance of $700 to interns who are not supported by their universities or other organizations.

• Every intern will be granted this stipend throughout the entire period of the internship program. The Internship spans from 3 to 11 Months.

Requirements

• Registered in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a legitimate (i.e., recognized in the IAU/UNESCO database) educational institution during the application period or recent alumni.

• Candidates should focus on an area pertinent to the objectives and activities of FAO.

• Proficient in at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish). Proficiency in an additional FAO language will be regarded as beneficial. Certificates demonstrating language proficiency will only be accepted if they come from UN-accredited external providers and/or FAO official language examinations (LPE, ILE, and LRT) as evidence of the language proficiency stated in the online applications.

• Hold citizenship of FAO Member Nations.

• Applicants must be within the age range of 21 to 30.

• Applicants must possess the ability to adjust to a global multicultural setting and demonstrate strong communication skills.

• Candidates who have family members (defined as brother, sister, mother, or father) working for FAO under any contractual agreement are ineligible for the Internship Programme.

• Applicants must possess the necessary residence or immigration status at the proposed duty location before commencing the internship.

Communication Fellowship 2025

The Club of Rome has established a Communication Fellowship, an annual mentoring program that aims to increase the diversity of voices addressing sustainable development issues and support early-career communication professionals from most countries around the world. The fellowship aims to create a network of passionate Club of Rome communication specialists around the world who can share information and best practices.
Applications for the 2025 Communication Fellowship are now open. The Club of Rome is currently accepting applications for the 2025 Communications Fellowship. The Fellowship is a seven-month mentoring program designed to increase the diversity of voices covering sustainability issues and support early-career communications professionals in most countries around the world. The fellowship will consist of a remote internship, with the successful fellow working from home, and travel to meet with members of the Club of Rome team. The fellowship provides a modest stipend for living expenses and includes work-related travel expenses.
The Communications Fellow will gain experience in communicating complex systems that are intended for non-specialist audiences through a range of platforms, including website, multimedia, and social media. The successful candidate will work directly with the communications team, contributing to a range of tasks including online publishing, media relations, event coverage, multimedia, social media and other communications activities.
Two positions are available and we welcome applications from candidates with a range of experience. We are particularly looking for individuals who are willing to work across all communications channels and who are skilled in producing multimedia content.
The ideal candidate will have:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in science or journalism, and/or a current or graduate student in a science journalism program.
Some experience writing about systems thinking or sustainability research for non-specialist audiences via blogs, journals, academic websites or other media OR experience producing multimedia content on relevant topics.
Written and oral proficiency in English and a proven ability to understand complex scientific research or systems thinking. Experience or interest in social media, video, photography or other multimedia media.
Alignment with the beliefs and vision of the Club of Rome.
Applicants from all countries are welcome, but priority will be given to citizens or residents of countries from most parts of the world.
