Job Purpose:
The position holder is responsible for overseeing the MEAL function to design and lead a robust MEAL system. The purpose of the MEAL system is to ensure data collection and monitoring in a coordinated and harmonized manner to inform timely and strategic decision-making, accountability, reporting and learning. The MEAL Coordinator ensures that the program is committed to continuous quality improvement and routine data quality assessment, has concise information, regularly shares program updates with stakeholders, has a mechanism to collect, monitor and respond to comments and complaints from stakeholders. In addition, the position holder ensures that quality standards are used during the implementation of program activities and establishes an appropriate documentation strategy for impact stories, reports and best practices. Staff is responsible for ensuring that program data on outcomes and progress toward outcomes are collected, analyzed, and summarized accurately and in a timely manner.
