Bilateral Education Agreement, 2025 Scholarship Awards for Nigerians

The Honourable Minister of Education (HME), Prof. Tahir Mamman OON, SAN, is inviting all interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2025/2026 Federal Government Scholarship Awards for:  

  BILATERAL EDUCATION AGREEMENT

Postgraduate (PG) studies are tenable in China, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, and Russia (for those whose first degrees were earned in Russia); undergraduate (UG) studies are tenable in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt, and Algeria.


Conditions
• In the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June), all applicants for undergraduate degree programs must have at least seven (7) distinctions (As & Bs) in subjects related to their fields of study, such as mathematics and English language.
• For non-African nations, certificates should not be older than two (2) years (2023 & 2024); for African nations, the maximum age is one year (2024). The age range is 17–20 years old.

Application Documents

All Applicants to upload the following certificates online;

UNDERGRADUATE (UG): NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, WAEC/WASSCE, and NIN slip.
The following must be submitted to the Federal Scholarship Board by candidates the Board nominates:
• Verified copies of academic credentials;

The current international passport’s data page; specific medical reports from government hospitals; an indigenous letter and birth certificate; and, if required, a police clearance certificate.

Requirements

• All candidates for Postgraduate degree programs must possess a First Degree with 1st Class or at minimum 2nd Class Upper Division.

• All candidates must have finished the N.Y.S.C. Programme, with an age limit of 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.

• Only N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates are accepted; and

• Proof of preparedness for release from an employer.

Application Documents

All candidates must upload the following certificates online;

POSTGRADUATE (PG): First Degree Certificate, NIN Slip, and NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Candidates selected by the Board must provide the Federal Scholarship Board with the following:

Verified duplicates of educational credentials;

Data page of the existing International passport;

Designated Medical Reports from Public hospitals;

Certificate of Birth & Indigene Document

Certificate of Police Clearance where required.
