Connecting health systems leaders for transformational impact. One cohort at a time.Transform. Impact. Community. Canadian health care leaders are looking for ways to revitalize, reimagine, and reorganize to adapt to an ever-changing world. Developing new skills to enhance existing capabilities is essential in an ever-evolving business environment. The National Health Fellows Program connects talented leaders, representing all parts of the health system, with skilled leaders, “new powerhouses,” educators, complex change facilitators, and mentors to strengthen the networks, behaviors, and evidence-based tools needed to advance health and wellness across the health system.
Be part of a growing movement to reimagine our national health ecosystem to deliver more for you, your organization, your patients, your employees, your communities, your world.
Over the course of 6 months, you will develop a deep understanding of how to create a leadership culture that embraces a systems thinking mindset, gain practical skills and tools to develop your leadership capabilities, and apply them in practice to… life-changing opportunities and challenges within your organization and across the health system.
By the end of the program, you will be able to:
Understand and use different frameworks to solve complex problems in your organization
Improve your ability to self-manage and create meaningful engagement with others
Improve your skills to understand and solve complex problems by overcoming obstacles to execution
Improve your ability to build partnerships across multiple internal and external boundaries
Become an integral part of a national network of like-minded leaders seeking to drive change in our health system
Contribute to the future of health leadership in Canada through co-creation and design of future iterations of the Health Leadership Academy program and activities.

By the end of the program, you will be able to:

2025 Program Dates
Application Period*:
May 15, 2024 – February 28, 2025

  • Applications with scholarship requirements will be accepted and reviewed on September 30, 2024. An announcement of scholarship funding will be made no later than October 30, 2024.
    Virtual Program Orientation: TBD.
    Module 1 – April 6-10, 2025: Burlington ON.
    Module 2 – May 31 – June 4, 2025: Palo Alto CA. Module 3 – October 5-9, 2025: Burlington, Ontario.
    2026 Program Dates (tentative).

  • Financial Support
  • The program offers a limited number of scholarships to qualified individuals applying to the 2025 cohort.
  • Scholarships will be distributed through a competitive application process and awarded by the HLA Governance Committee no later than October 31, 2024.
  • To qualify for a scholarship, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and have a leadership role in a publicly funded health care or social services organization. Green Ambassadorship Program (GAP)

GAP stands for Green Ambassador Program. GAP is currently in its third edition, an intensive 16-week program designed to empower young Africans through a comprehensive learning process that aims to transform them into successful green social entrepreneurs.

Eligibility: Age: 18 to 35 years. Citizenship: Be an African citizen. Interests: Demonstrated passion for green social entrepreneurship – have a budding idea or a startup business.Commitment: Willingness to fully participate in the 16-week intensive learning program. Connectivity: Access to a reliable internet connection and stable electricity supply. Language: Ability to communicate fluently in English.

Communication Fellowship 2025

The Club of Rome has established a Communication Fellowship, an annual mentoring program that aims to increase the diversity of voices addressing sustainable development issues and support early-career communication professionals from most countries around the world. The fellowship aims to create a network of passionate Club of Rome communication specialists around the world who can share information and best practices.
Applications for the 2025 Communication Fellowship are now open. The Club of Rome is currently accepting applications for the 2025 Communications Fellowship. The Fellowship is a seven-month mentoring program designed to increase the diversity of voices covering sustainability issues and support early-career communications professionals in most countries around the world. The fellowship will consist of a remote internship, with the successful fellow working from home, and travel to meet with members of the Club of Rome team. The fellowship provides a modest stipend for living expenses and includes work-related travel expenses.
The Communications Fellow will gain experience in communicating complex systems that are intended for non-specialist audiences through a range of platforms, including website, multimedia, and social media. The successful candidate will work directly with the communications team, contributing to a range of tasks including online publishing, media relations, event coverage, multimedia, social media and other communications activities.
Two positions are available and we welcome applications from candidates with a range of experience. We are particularly looking for individuals who are willing to work across all communications channels and who are skilled in producing multimedia content.
The ideal candidate will have:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in science or journalism, and/or a current or graduate student in a science journalism program.
Some experience writing about systems thinking or sustainability research for non-specialist audiences via blogs, journals, academic websites or other media OR experience producing multimedia content on relevant topics.
Written and oral proficiency in English and a proven ability to understand complex scientific research or systems thinking. Experience or interest in social media, video, photography or other multimedia media.
Alignment with the beliefs and vision of the Club of Rome.
Applicants from all countries are welcome, but priority will be given to citizens or residents of countries from most parts of the world.
