Proposals for initiatives that improve relations between the United States and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) are being accepted by the Small Grants Program. Programs should emphasize common values and provide chances for bilateral cooperation in areas of shared interest. Every program needs to have a U. S. element, like a specialist, group, cultural component, or establishment that will foster a deeper comprehension of U. S. viewpoints and policies. Priority Areas: Countering misinformation and promoting media literacy Peace-building and conflict resolution Peace-building initiatives and sustainable economic growth Preserving the Congo Basin through sustainable economic growth Boosting democracy, accountability, and good governance Promoting prosperity, trade, and investment Consistent values, interests, and language Funding Information Estimated total program funding: $50,000. Maximum Award: $25,000. Floor Award: $2,000. Performance period duration: 1–12 months.
Eligibility Criteria: Public and private educational institutions; non-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations; Participants and Audiences: The U.S. S. In order to increase awareness of the United States, Embassy Kinshasa aims to interact with the public, media, civil society, and influencers at all societal levels in Congo. S. values, society, history, culture, and policies. Programs related to partisan political activity, charitable or development endeavors, construction projects, programs that support particular religious activities, fund-raising campaigns, lobbying for particular laws or programs, scientific research, programs primarily aimed at the organization’s growth or institutional development, or programs that duplicate existing programs are among the categories of programs that are not eligible for funding.
Review Criteria The following evaluation criteria will be used to rate and assess each application: Quality and Feasibility of the Program Idea: 20 points: The program idea is well-developed and includes specifics about how the activities will be carried out. A realistic implementation schedule is part of the proposal. Organizational Capacity and Track Record on Prior Grants: The organization has the internal controls necessary to manage federal funds and is an expert in its field. This covers both a bank account and a financial management system. Program Planning/Ability to Achieve Objectives: 15 points: Program approach is likely to have the greatest impact in reaching the suggested results, and goals and objectives are clearly stated. Budget: 10 points: A thorough justification of the budget is provided. Considering the suggested activities and expected outcomes, the costs are fair. The budget is reasonable and covers all costs required to carry out the suggested activities. 15 points for the monitoring and evaluation plan: The applicant shows that they can assess program success using important metrics and set benchmarks to show how they’re doing in reaching the objectives stated in the proposal. The program outlines how and when output and outcome indicators will be measured. Ten points for sustainability: Program activities will continue to have a beneficial effect long after the program is over. Support for Underserved Communities and Equity – 10.
