WANEP-Nigeria is the Nigerian national office of the West African Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP), a sub-regional NGO with its regional secretariat based in Accra, Ghana, whose mission is to activate and facilitate the development of cooperation mechanisms between practitioners and civil society organizations in peacebuilding in West Africa to promote collaborative responses to violent conflicts; provide the structure through which these practitioners and institutions will regularly share their experiences and information on issues of peacebuilding, conflict transformation, social, religious and political reconciliation; and promote West African social and cultural values ​​as resources for peacebuilding.

We are recruiting to fill the following position:
Job Title: Field Agent
Location: Makurdi, Benue
Type of work: Full-time (one-year contract, renewable depending on the availability of funds).

General Summary of the Position
The EWER Program Manager supports all other activities related to the strengthening of the PARTNER Early Warning and Early Response System in Nigeria and ensures smooth, timely and consistent implementation across all countries of program implementation.
The EWER Program Manager will liaise frequently with the WANEP EWER Technical Advisors and other implementing partners, setting standards to support strategic interventions and the development and planning of the PARTNER program’s early warning and early response systems. He/She will need to establish and manage relationships with other stakeholders.
He/She will work closely with all program and operations staff (including finance and operations) to ensure that activities are implemented according to plan, budget and the required quality.

Essential job responsibilities
Strategy and vision:
Support the technical aspects of strengthening the peacebuilding and early warning and response system in Nigeria by assisting in the development of activities/programs/programs as required. Facilitate and co-facilitate community meetings, events and trainings as needed. Ensure that the implementation of activities is in line with deadlines, objectives and budget. Liaise with PARTNER implementation partner organizations and potential resources as needed. Promote the consolidation of the strengthening of the integrated national multi-threat early warning and rapid response systems in Nigeria. Integrate community-based approaches, protection mainstreaming, gender sensitivity and capacity building into all activities, as appropriate. Ensure effective community engagement to create an enabling environment and ownership. Submit weekly program updates, including success stories, to supervisor. Update program issue log, risk log and incident tracking as appropriate. Ensure program classification system is in place, complies with internal and donor regulations, and that classification is updated regularly. Supports standardization of warnings for different threats and harmonization of key messages.
Supports expansion of the community EWER system, including consideration of gender and vulnerable groups.
Ensures that program implementation responds to community needs, achieves objectives, and is conducted in accordance with best practices.
Establishes and maintains effective monitoring and evaluation and program reporting systems (to track, analyze, and report results) for internal and external use.

Program Management: Supervise the administration, management, and launch of the program. Make sure the program is implemented on schedule, within budget, and with the help of efficient MandE systems to achieve the intended results. Make sure that program implementation complies with WANEP-Nigeria’s pertinent program guidelines, principles, values, quality standards, and strategic plan while also being responsive to communities and partners. Make sure the activities and strategies of the program reflect international best practices in EWER. Oversee and/or evaluate program consultants’ work. Work together with the teams in charge of administration, security, procurement, logistics, and human resources to make sure field operations are supported by operational systems. Verify that beneficiaries are successfully targeted based on clear criteria. Create frameworks for partnerships, draft agreements and memorandums of understanding, and manage the development of partner capacity. As appropriate, incorporate gender sensitivity, community approaches, and capacity building into every activity. Attest that every intervention complies with beneficiary accountability guidelines, the Do No Harm tenets, and WANEP-Nigeria’s gender policy. According to the organization-wide guide, meet the Program Management Minimum Standards set forth by WANEP-Nigeria. Team management: Provide information, resources, and tools to team members so they can perform better and accomplish goals. Encourage responsibility, convey expectations, and offer helpful criticism both formally and informally through frequent performance evaluations and one-on-one meetings. Influence.

Knowledge and Experience
B.Sc. / B.A. At least 3-5 years of work experience in the non-profit sector, preferably in conflict management/peacebuilding and community development. Experience working in rural areas of Nigeria, particularly in target states for PARTNER implementation. Experience engaging with national and local government authorities, religious leaders and local partners. Experience in managing community-based peacebuilding and early warning interventions. Strong training and capacity building experience. Proven understanding of conflict dynamics in North Central and North West Nigeria in general. Knowledge of the local language (written and spoken) is strongly preferred. Experience working in a multi-organizational team (international and national partners) is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are required, including developing, writing and editing reports. Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively with team members. Application Deadline

Ability to effectively manage competing project deadlines in a high-pressure work environment with varying degrees of supervision.
