Job Description
As a Community Manager, you are undoubtedly one of the most important elements in creating and scaling the Community Units vision in building an inclusive Pan-African innovation ecosystem. As a Community Manager, you will be responsible for creating innovative and exciting ways to engage and manage the CCHUB community, both on-site and online across various practices and units. The Community Manager will identify and fully understand the diverse needs of the CcHUB community and promote CcHUB projects through creative, clear and persuasive methods within our community of practice.
Develop strategies to broaden and deepen the CcHUB community through various strategic community engagements that drive new member acquisition and create an active and engaging community.
Work closely with practices to build and support their communities.
Identify, initiate and manage community initiatives that keep the CCHUB community engaged.
Work closely with the communications team on how to best engage our online community and create relevant content. Manage the physical community space based on members.
Understand and enhance the overall customer experience (create a sense of community among members).
Generate bi-monthly reports on community trends, including but not limited to data on the number of events, type of event, and number of attendees at those events.
Monitor and report on online comments/reviews and liaise with management to convey customer feedback and information gained from online community chats.
Build relationships with customers, prospects, and industry professionals. Stakeholder Engagement.
Create a welcoming environment: Integrate and assist community members in a friendly, patient, and professional manner
Maintain and monitor accurate databases across multiple platforms (billing, customer data, etc.)
Plan weekly, biweekly, and monthly events, hangouts, digital engagements, workshops, and seminars targeting diverse community members.
Answer, screen, and transfer phone calls, inquiries, and questions, and handle as needed.
Work with the administrative team to ensure the maintenance and management of the co-working space
Qualifications
A good understanding of
How to create and maintain active communities in person and online
Understand what community engagement is and how to respond to community needs
Tools and strategies that improve community engagement online and offline
The successful candidate will have the following experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, English, journalism, marketing or a related field.
Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Experience working in a large, complex organization with extensive stakeholder management experience
Knowledge of marketing trends and techniques.
