The Gender Justice, Population and Inclusive Development Group, Group 2, of ESCWA is seeking a dedicated and qualified Research Assistant to join its dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects within the Social Justice team, with a particular focus on the impact of the Social Development Report No. , significantly contributing to the team’s published outputs. Duties and Responsibilities: – Provide essential research support on topics related to the work of the Social Justice Team, in particular the Social Development Report No. 5. This includes reviewing existing literature; conducting desk research; collecting quantitative and qualitative data from secondary sources, synthesizing and presenting data in various formats. – Compile, tabulate and analyze various types of survey results and data sets on various socio-economic issues from various sources. – Check statistical material for accuracy, clarity and validity and make appropriate adjustments. – Generate various statistical reports and prepare presentations, tables, lists, graphs, data sets and/or maps for reporting and presentation purposes. – Support the implementation of online surveys and other tools and the collection, validation and tabulation of related data to facilitate analysis. – Assist in the preparation and review of written findings published by the Social Justice Team, e.g. – Attend and co-facilitate capacity building workshops. – Write contributions to presentations, speeches, policy briefs and research papers. – Assist in the organization of expert group meetings, conferences or seminars related to the team’s work. – Prepare meeting minutes. – Write final workshop and meeting reports as required. – Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications and skills: A master’s degree or equivalent in a field related to the social sciences, such as sociology, economics, development studies, political science or public administration, or any other related field is required.
