The Human Resources Manager will assist the Human Resources Director in the implementation of recruitment, employee relations management, benefits administration, staff compensation, performance management and staff training. The ideal candidate must have at least 6 years of HR experience and at least 2 years of management experience, be very diligent, meticulous and process-oriented with some understanding of legal and logistical processes. The applicant must reside in or be willing to relocate to North West Nigeria. Excellent communication skills, a learning mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with overseas people managing HR systems are essential to succeed in this role.

The All Babies Are Equal Initiative (the Nigerian arm of the American organization New Incentives) was incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission as a Nigerian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and its work focuses on creating demand for routine vaccination in Nigeria through cash transfers. . conditional cash. . The organization’s goal is to save lives in a cost-effective manner by increasing immunization coverage in the Northwestern states of Nigeria: Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kano, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna and Kebbi.
The conditional cash transfer for routine immunization intervention includes a review of the supply, awareness of vaccination and its importance, and a cash transfer for vaccination visits to caregivers of eligible children. Job Responsibilities and Duties
Recruitment (40%)
Develop innovative recruitment strategies and tools that will help attract and retain top talent. Monitor anticipated staffing capacity issues in some LGUs to begin recruiting more quickly
Introduce new recruitment strategies based on needs and requirements. Verify candidate suitability and performance after training. Conduct phone interviews of candidates pre-screened by FV through local New Incentives team members. Conduct LinkedIn searches for mid-level and senior staff. Manages the Breezy HR online recruitment platform and writes job descriptions; promotes job postings on social media. Employee Relations, Benefits, and Compensation Management (30%)
Develops HR policies and objectives for the company regarding employee relations. Works with management to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws. Provides employee relations practices necessary to create a positive employer-employee relationship and promotes high levels of employee morale and motivation. Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are raised. Oversee the implementation of a performance improvement process with dysfunctional employees. Review, guide, and approve management recommendations regarding termination of employment. Review employee grievances through the company’s grievance procedure. Establish the company’s salary structure and compensation policies and oversee variable pay systems within the company, including bonuses and raises. Conduct competitive market research to create compensation practices and salary ranges that help recruit and retain high-quality personnel. Responsible for all compensation practices and systems for efficiency and cost control. Conduct at least one salary survey per year. With the assistance of the CFO, obtain employee benefits at cost; monitor the national benefits environment for options and cost savings. Responsible for developing benefits guidelines and training for other benefits. Implements reporting policies and ensures that staff feel comfortable reporting concerns to HR.
Recommends changes to benefits offerings, particularly new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention. Performance Management and Employee Training (20%)
Responsible for implementing the performance management system that includes Performance Development Plans (PDPs) and employee development programs. Creates an internal employee training system that meets the company’s training needs, including training needs assessment, orientation or induction of new employees, management development, cross-training in production, measurement of training impact, and transfer of training. Assists managers in selecting and contracting external training programs and consultants. Assists in developing and tracking the company’s training budget expenditures. Managers and others (10%)
Provides technical supervision and guidance to the Human Resources unit. Provide recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing, assessment, staff development and internal communications of the workforce required for HR functions. Identify training needs, coach, monitor and supervise, conduct periodic assessments of team members to maximize their skills and commitment to organizational goals. Perform any other administrative, training and development duties appropriate to the position’s rank, including legal and logistical support requirements.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
MSc, BSc or BA in Business Administration, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent
A certified member of Charter Institute of Personnel Management is a plus
A minimum of 6-8 years of previous work experience in an HR unit is required
A minimum of 3 to 4 years of management experience is required
3-5 years of previous experience working for a non-profit, charity, NGO or (I)NGO is a plus
