Peace Research (Capacity Building Opportunity)

The PRIO Peace Research International Summer School is now open to students interested in applying for a place in the 2025 program.
The University of Oslo International Summer School is an academic center for learning in an international context and a forum for fostering intercultural understanding. The Peace Research Course has been part of the International Summer School at the University of Oslo since 1969. This master’s level course runs from 30 June to 25 July 2025.

About the course
PRIO collaborates with the International Summer School on the Peace Research course, which offers a comprehensive introduction to peace studies, combined with more focused studies of selected areas and topics. PRIO is responsible for the academic program as well as for teaching and other practical activities.
The main topics covered are:
Causes and consequences of armed conflicts
Conflict resolution
Gender, identity and human rights
Humanitarian intervention
Peacekeeping and peacebuilding efforts
The course integrates key information on peace processes, negotiation strategies and the ethical challenges of conflict intervention.
Its mission is to provide students with a deeper understanding of the dynamics of conflict in order to foster effective resolution.

Self-funded Scholarship Application Deadline: March 3
Admission to the course is highly competitive. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or higher and have demonstrated an interest in peace and conflict issues. Students come from a wide range of countries around the world and have diverse backgrounds and experiences. Many come from political and social sciences, while others have more practical experience in the humanitarian aid sector.

BKMC Global Citizen 2025

Following several successful rounds of the Global Citizen Scholarship Program, the Ban Kimoon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) is excited to open applications for the 8th edition of our Global Citizen Scholarship. This initiative aims to support young African leaders who are eager to make a difference in regard to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The GC Scholarship is an entirely online program designed to enable young African activists to tackle one or more of the SDGs within their communities. Participants will develop and carry out a localized SDG MicroProject while also having access to a summer school experience, along with peer mentoring and various specialized training workshops on important subjects.

The training program focuses on 14 young African leaders, ages 20 to 35, from various African nations. Three students from Management Center Innsbruck University will also join the selected participants, creating a total group of 17 changemakers in this year’s scholarship opportunity.

The program begins in April 2025. Throughout 8 to 9 months, chosen Scholars will improve their skills related to Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. They will gain knowledge about entrepreneurship linked to sustainable development and build connections with professional networks. Additionally, benefits include full funding for a twoweek summer school at Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) University, as well as coverage for various expert workshops, a peertopeer mentoring program, and seed funding of 500 USD available for launching an SDG MicroProject after successfully presenting a project proposal. Finally, upon completing their own SDG MicroProject, Scholars will receive a certificate of achievement endorsed by both Cochairs of the Ban Kimoon Centre, H. E. Ban Kimoon and H. E. Dr Heinz Fischer. ISC2 WOMENS CYBERSECURITY SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships to inspire women to join the ever-growing field of Information Security. APPLICATIONS OPEN IN JANUARY 15, 2025 AND CLOSE MARCH 3, 2025 AT 11:59 PM EST

Women’s Scholarship Applicants: To be eligible for one of those awards, you must apply for the Undergraduate or Graduate Scholarships; applications will not be transferred automatically. Your application materials and information can be imported straight into the undergraduate or graduate application. To find the import button on the upper right corner of your dashboard, simply click on the link for the relevant scholarship.

AWARD
Up to ten scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship will be worth between $1,000 and $5,000.
If awarded: Funds will be sent to the school with instructions for their use for tuition, fees, books, and required materials. Recipients will not receive scholarship funds. Scholarships must be accepted within three (3) weeks of award notification. If the scholarship is not accepted, it will be awarded to another applicant. All scholarships must be paid to the recipient’s educational institution by December 31 of the award year. Scholarships will not be carried over to the next year. They are not renewable. You will need to reapply each year to be considered for another scholarship. ELIGIBILITY
Must be pursuing or plan to pursue a degree focused in cybersecurity, information assurance, or a related field in the fall of 2025. Must be pursuing an associate, bachelor’s, graduate, or post-graduate degree in 2025.
Must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or a similar ranking based on a comparable scale). You may be a citizen of any country (US citizenship is not required). You may take courses on campus or online. You may take courses full-time or part-time.
You may take courses in the United States or abroad.
You do not need to be currently enrolled, but no scholarship will be paid until the recipient is enrolled in a college or university.
What is required?
Unofficial transcripts from your current (or most recent) educational institution. If awarded, funds will not be released until official transcripts are received. A letter of recommendation that describes the following:
How long have you known the applicant and in what capacity? What skills or abilities does the applicant have that will help them obtain a degree? What other information about the applicant should be considered? NOTE: Academic references are preferred; however, you may submit a professional letter of recommendation that addresses the points above. CV – No more than 3 pages maximum. Do not include links to positions. Essay questions to be completed in the application:
Tell us why you should be selected to receive this Cyber ​​Security for Women Scholarship and what sets you apart from your peers? Write about why you need the scholarship. Describe your personal and educational background. What inspired you to pursue a career in cybersecurity? What makes you a successful candidate in information security and what are your goals for your professional career. Once you graduate and secure a career in our industry, what steps can you take to “make a difference” by supporting other women (currently in school, recent graduates, mid-career) starting out in our field? Describe any contributions to the cybersecurity field, e.g. volunteer work, articles, etc., as well as any other hobbies or extracurricular activities and what they mean to you. (Do not include links to articles).

SCORING CRITERIA ISC2 members and scholarship sponsors (if applicable) will assign scores to applicants. Three criteria will be used to determine scores: Financial Need, Merit, and Passion. Please note that not all applicants will be awarded a scholarship. Scholarships are given out only once, and in order to be eligible for another one, you must reapply every year. The Center for Cyber Safety and Education is in charge of administering all scholarships. No awards will be made until July 2025.
