Organisational Funding for Staff Conference Attendance

Published

on

Organizations that do not have the opportunity to participate in professional conferences are invited to apply for the “Assist/Present” Health Fund grant. We welcome candidates who will use their presence at the conference to help build networks, inform thinking, form projects, raise professional awareness, stage future work or develop the field related to the Fund’s mission.

We know that professional development is not always part of the budget, but opportunities for professional development, networking, and knowledge sharing are essential for innovation and iteration – and innovation and iteration are easier when organizations share what works and how it works. Organizations that otherwise could not afford to attend professional conferences are encouraged to apply for the Health Fund Participation/Participation Grant. We welcome applicants who will use conference attendance to help build networks, inform thinking, shape projects, educate professionals, set the stage for future work, or advance the field related to the Health Fund’s mission. We also support organizations to send employees to specific training and seminars that can help them be more effective in their roles. All current and past recipients of Health Fund grants are invited to apply. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. To be eligible for funding, applicants must complete and submit an online application at least four weeks prior to the start date of the conference. The Health Fund will notify each applicant of the decision regarding their scholarship within three weeks of the online submission. The Health Fund may also ask scholarship recipients to share their experiences through a written report within two weeks of the conference.

The conference must have a direct connection with health or the work of the Health Fund. Applicants must be current or past recipients or principal partners of grants funded by the Health Fund. Conferences may be held at the state, regional, or national level, but conferences located outside the United States will not be considered. Scholarships of up to $2,000 per individual will be available up to $4,000 per organization. Scholarship funding will be used to cover participant registration, travel, accommodation and incidental expenses while attending the conference. Indirect costs will not be considered.
Applicants will be eligible for a one-time, non-renewable scholarship in this field. Funding from this scholarship cannot be used to cover conference expenses or other travel costs that are already funded by another funding source. Applicants are not eligible for more than one scholarship per conference per year and cannot apply to attend the same conference multiple years in a row. Preference will be given to applicants from organizations that have not received a scholarship in the previous year. To apply, go to: https://mhef.fluxx.io/user_sessions/new
