UN volunteer program

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program contributes to peace and development through volunteering around the world. As an international UN volunteer, you will receive a monthly living allowance (VLA) of USD 1,800-3,500 depending on location. Please note that UN Volunteers are not considered official UN staff, but are considered UN staff. To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years old, with age requirements varying between the different categories: UN Youth Volunteers must be between 18 and 26 years old, Specialists 27 years old and above, and Experts 35 years old and above. Specific roles may have additional academic, professional and linguistic criteria. All UN Volunteers are expected to adhere to the values ​​and principles of the UN, adapt to diverse environments, including challenging locations, and have strong professional and interpersonal skills. UN International Volunteer assignments can generally last from 3 to 12 months with a maximum period of 4 years. The terms and conditions change frequently, so please make sure not to rely on my article but check the official website for the latest information. EPLF Fully Funded Opportunity

The Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship is an initiative of the Leadership Bridge Foundation. It is a fully funded, non-partisan political leadership development project that nurtures and prepares young Nigerians for leadership at the local, regional and national levels, thereby improving the overall quality of leadership in the country.
Over the course of a year, fellows have access to personalized content provided by a carefully curated list of politicians, development experts, historians, civil society leaders, religious figures, advisors and mentors.
The Residential Bootcamp serves as a melting pot for networking with peers, immersing themselves in Nigeria’s federal policy ecosystem, meeting key decision-makers, and presenting their key projects before a diverse panel of experienced politicians and technocrats. The Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship also offers its fellows the opportunity to demystify Nigerian politics in collaboration with credible past and present politicians through the program’s mentoring initiative at Bootcamp. ELIGIBILITY
Who is eligible? Emerging Leaders:
Who are active in mainstream politics in Nigeria. With a proven track record of service to a community, region and Nigeria. With a demonstrable track record of accountability, integrity, strategy and sustainability. Age 25-35 (If you are between 36-45 years old with a strong application, you can still apply). Who meets all legal requirements to be elected to any level in Nigeria. No criminal record. No criminal case/ongoing investigation with any national or international security agency (such as Interpol, EFCC)
TARGET AUDIENCE
Who should apply? Mid-level and senior technocrats
Officers
Nigerians in the diaspora interested in running for election in Nigeria
Technical staff of former or current politicians (special advisers, technical assistants, etc.)
Political appointees (such as commissioners, executive secretaries, etc.)
Former political party candidates who ran for local/state/national office
Current candidates/Political representatives of political parties contesting local/state/national elections
Grassroots activists/changemakers with a proven track record of impact in their communities
Women, minorities (and other groups subject to discrimination and exclusion) with a proven track record of service and impact in their communities. benefit

Upon completing the program, you will gain membership into the Alumni Association, providing you with access to a network of credible and like-minded emerging political leaders.
Upon selection, you will gain the opportunity to implement a civic-driven impact project in your community, develop your capstone project, and collaborate with other fellows to implement civic conversations and other impactful activities across social media platforms.

Africa Scholarship Programme

The Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP) offers talented and motivated students from Africa the unique opportunity to pursue a master’s degree at Wageningen University and to support capacity building in Africa.
Scholarships available: to be determined
Application deadline for the master’s programme: 1 February 2025
Start of the master’s programme: 1 September 2025
Scholarship components:
Travel to and from the Netherlands
Living allowance for the duration of the programme (24 months)
Tuition cover for the duration of the programme (24 months)
Visa fees and health insurance fees
Requirements:

You are a citizen of an African country.

  1. You have applied for one of the master’s programmes at Wageningen University and Research before the deadline. Please see: How can I apply for the master’s program?
  2. You have been unconditionally accepted into this master’s program.
  3. You are an excellent student with a first-class degree and an overall average of 80% or more in a bachelor’s degree. 5. Priority is given to students who have not yet completed their master’s degree.
    Only if you meet all the above conditions will you be eligible for an invitation to the Africa Fellowship Program selection procedure.

BCD360 is a Non-Governmental Organization registered under the CAC with a mission to improve lives through capacity building, provision of critical services and innovative research that drives advocacy for better policy and practice by relevant stakeholders and decision makers. BCD360 is opening two (2) volunteering opportunities.
